Craig Tamanaha Arrested! Fox News Christmas tree goes up in flames
Just last weekend, the 15-meter Christmas tree of the US TV station Fox News was ceremoniously lit.
Police and firefighters were able to bring the situation under control and arrest a 49-year-old man identified as Craig Tamanaha.
Since 2019, it has become a ceremony of the U.S. television channel Fox News to put up a Christmas tree in front of the main headquarters in the New York borough of Manhattan and to light it up ceremoniously with a ceremony. So this year, too, the channel lit a Christmas tree 15 meters high and decorated with thousands of light ornaments during a broadcast last Sunday. But shortly after, on Wednesday morning, it is on fire, as reported by The New York Times.
A station employee tweeted, "Fire crews on scene to put out fire on tree in Fox Square." Fox anchor Shannon Bream also gives TV viewers a live update on the burning tree with “Breaking News” "This is Fox Square in New York, outside Fox headquarters," while the TV image shows the tree on fire.
After the fire is extinguished, it says, "We will monitor the situation to find out what started this whole thing."
The station has not yet responded to another request for comment from "The New York Times." Police say no one was injured, but officers have arrested a suspect who may be connected to the fire.
