Justin Johnson killer of Young Dolph tells judge he can't afford lawyer
The alleged killer of Young Dolph, Justin Johnson, has said that he has no money to hire a lawyer. According to Hot New Hip Hop, "Justin will be assigned an attorney because he violated his sex offender registration, and he will not have an attorney for Dolph's alleged murder charge."
HNHH has more on Justin Johnson, who claims he has no money to hire an attorney to defend him in the sex offender case.
In addition to the charges involving Dolph's death, Johnson was also charged with failing to timely register or register as a sex offender in Tennessee, Action News 5 reports. Yesterday, he told a judge he had "no money for an attorney" for those charges.
The alleged killer was convicted of aggravated rape in 2015 and is required to report to police quarterly as a result, but failed to show up for his check-in last December.
For the sex offenses, Johnson is assigned a public defender, but for the charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, use of a firearm during a dangerous felony and theft of property over $10,000, he and Smith have claimed they would be able to hire their own representative.
If convicted of the above offenses, the two men face life in prison or even the death penalty.
Rumor has it that Johnson, also known as Straight Dropp, received $100,000 for the hit on Dolph, from whom is not known. The fact that no one wants to defend him says a lot about the fact that even lawyers who are not among the most morally outstanding people in the world want nothing to do with this case because they do not want to get shot.
Straight Dropp said he would be out in a few weeks, but that doesn't seem likely. If he doesn't squeal hard, he'll be in jail for the rest of his days.
