Woman unrecognizable after amazing transformation. She takes the power of makeup to a whole new level
Canadian makeup artist Sarah Andres has been dubbed a "catfish" after flaunting her stunning makeup transformation online. Harnessing the power of makeup - as well as clip-in veneers for four front teeth she lost in a quad accident in 2017 - 35-year-old Andres shares her makeup looks on social media, telling Caters News that people don't even recognize her. "I've even been asked how I managed to lose weight between before and after pictures," she says. "And when people who know me without makeup see me with makeup, they don't even recognize me."
Her viral videos on TikTok reach thousands of views, with one even surpassing the million mark. In the clip, titled "Baddie," some people praised her clever use of transitions, while others called it "witchcraft." "This should be illegal," wrote one astonished user. "This is why I have confidence issues," joked another in a chorus of viewers who told Andres she looked "beautiful."
"I don't mind sharing my natural look because I'm happy with the way I look and know that looks aren't everything," she said, "although it took me a while to get to that point.
In addition to her "beautiful Hollywood smile" - thanks to veneers - Andres sculpts her face to change its shape, sculpting the perfect nose, cheekbones and jawline.
Her nose and teeth are the parts of her look that people always point out, she adds, but the dramatic change is her favorite thing about makeup: "It's like magic."
She's been honing her makeup skills since 2010, perfecting her techniques and figuring out what suits her facial structure.
"I watched hundreds of hours of makeup tutorials on YouTube to learn these skills, and I've been a full-time makeup artist since 2018," Andres says, adding that she's a "big fan" of glitter eyeshadow.
She says she "enjoys" transforming herself with makeup, and takes an hour to do a full makeover because she's never satisfied with a natural look.
"I love to pimp myself out, natural makeup is out of the question for me," she says, "It's all or nothing with me."
But she doesn't rely on glitz and glamour to "hide" her looks. Instead, she wants to encourage people to admire her natural beauty.
"My main goal is to inspire women and show them that they are beautiful with and without makeup," she says.
