In Cajamarca, Peru, a shocking incident unfolded as a woman, driven by jealousy, allegedly severed her husband's penis while he slept peacefully at their home in the district of Chota. Witnesses claim the attack followed a heated argument over suspected infidelity.
Identified as Marleni Rimarachín Colunche, the alleged perpetrator reportedly enlisted the help of a friend.
Both suspects were apprehended by the Peruvian National Police. The victim received initial treatment at the Chota hospital before being transferred to Chiclayo for specialized care, his condition listed as critical.
Legal action against the accused for causing severe injuries is pending, with the prosecutor's office to determine their fate soon.
The couple, parents to a three-month-old infant, are both employed at the José Soto Cadenillas hospital in Chota. Commanding officer Hugo Cieza of the local police station confirmed the arrests, highlighting the swift response of law enforcement to the incident.
