Prince Harry plans to publish a book of his memoirs next year - and promises an accurate and "completely honest" account of his life "at first hand."

Prince Harry plans to publish a book of his memoirs next year. The British prince, 36, who now lives in the U.S. with his wife Meghan and two children together, will share "for the very first time a definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses and lessons that have shaped him," New York-based publisher Penguin Random House announced Monday. "I write this not as the prince I was born to be, but as the man I have become," the 36-year-old said in a statement. He said he looks forward to people reading a "first-hand account of my life that will be accurate and completely honest."

The book is scheduled to be published later in 2022, with proceeds going to charity. Harry had already begun this year to speak surprisingly openly and critically about his family in the British royal family. Together with his wife Meghan (39), he gave a sensational interview on U.S. television, in which the couple accused the royal family of racism and lack of support. In addition, Harry accused his father Prince Charles of transferring his own suffering to his children. He described his move with Meghan to California as a break from a cycle of "pain and suffering."
