A young woman went viral, through TikTok, a message she received by mistake criticizing her physical appearance, after having applied for a job.

Gracie Lorincz, a 21-year-old American, sent her resume and information to the clothing store Ava Lane Boutique, in Michigan, because she wanted to be a representative of the brand whose slogan is "beauty through self-confidence".

But one of the owners responded to his email in error, as he intended to send that text to his wife, also in charge of hiring.

"This girl is not that pretty. She applied for the sales model position - are you sure you want me to interview her?" wrote prospective employer Chuck DeGrendel.

Far from feeling bad about the guy's words - which, according to her mother, "trashed her" - Gracie opted to mock him on social media, where her video received more than 11,000 comments.

It was such a scandal that Chuck and his wife Laura DeGrendel offered a public apology via a Facebook live broadcast: "I didn't feel it was that cute. I don't know why I said that, but I did, and I'm so sorry I did," the man said through tears.

In addition, he referred to Lorincz: "I can imagine how bad he would feel. I'm sorry I said that. It was a mistake to say it. I don't know why I said it, but I did. And it's 100% my fault."

"They threatened our children."
On the other hand, Langen stated that they both received threats. "Our phone numbers are there, our address is there (N. of the R.: published on the web), they threatened our children. I'm pretty sure that the girl (...) did not intend for her followers to contact us to threaten our family. I'm pretty sure that was not her intention, although that is what happened".

For her part, Lorincz asked users to stop harassing DeGrendel's family. "My video got a lot more attention than I could have imagined. Thank you for your support, but please leave Degrendel's family alone," he posted on TikTok.
