Ms. Trost, a mother of three, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coral Springs police said in a statement, "When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle with a female occupant in the driver's seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
"Despite immediate medical treatment, the female driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead."
According to neighbors, Reese claimed he was upset after being evicted from the $515,000 (£385,000) home.
