The policemen had pulled the driver of a pickup truck out of traffic near a hotel, checked his identity.
Arrest warrant for theft and embezzlement
Thereby they determined: It is Eric Holland (57). AND: There is a warrant for the man's arrest for theft and embezzlement since 2019, US media report. During Holland's arrest, the officers apparently had to use a Taser.
Police officers then searched the bed of the truck. There they discovered human remains—including the severed head.
The 57-year-old faces murder charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Monday in a Las Vegas court. Police did not say whether the body parts found had already been identified.
