Pittsburgh Steelers Sign Mitch Trubisky
NFL Big Ben successor The Pittsburgh Steelers have found their - at least temporary - quarterback solution: Mitch Trubisky has agreed to terms with the Steelers at the start of Free Agency
He succeeds longtime Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who ended his career after last season. The exact financial details are still pending, but it is said to be a two-year deal for Trubisky.
The rumor mill surrounding the former No. 2 pick, who spent last season as Josh Allen's backup in Buffalo after leaving Chicago, had been heating up in recent weeks. According to reports, Trubisky eventually decided between the Giants and Steelers - and chose Pittsburgh.
In Pittsburgh, the immediate path to the field might be easier: While he would have had to compete against Daniel Jones for the starting job with the Giants, his competitors with the Steelers as of now are Dwayne Haskins and Mason Rudolph.
However, it is also conceivable that the Steelers see Trubisky only as a temporary solution: There are rumors in Pittsburgh that the Steelers could select a quarterback early in the draft.
