Andy Jassy the new Amazon boss
Jeff Bezos (57) gives up the job as Amazon boss! Andy Jassy is to be his successor in the third quarter of 2021.
Bezos founded the online giant, making it the richest man in the world. Forbes currently estimates his fortune at $196.2 billion (EUR 163 billion).
Amazon announced that Bezos will step down as CEO during the third quarter of 2021. Amazon Web Services CEO Andy Jassy will replace Bezos, who will transition to the executive chair of Amazon’s board. Bezos is still in control...
A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to hear Andy Jassy speak at @sequoia's annual basecamp event. Such a down-to-earth leader. It was cool to hear his stories of the early AWS days.
Hoping to hear some of the stories he's going to make in this new role one day.

Andy Jassy, who is taking over as CEO, has been running Amazon’s cloud business rather than any of its retail. That division has revenues of $40 billion and makes *sizeable* margins – unlike retail.
He’s also been there since 1997. Amazon execs tend to last a long time.
