For Sinéad O'Connor, 55, a whole world breaks down. After her son was declared missing, the singer now shares in an emotional post that Shane died at only 17 years old.

Sinéad O'Connor: "My wonderful son decided today to end his earthly struggle".
In her social media post, O'Connor explains, "My wonderful son, Nevi'im Nesta Ali Shane O'Connor, the light of my life, decided today to end his earthly struggle and is now with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please rest in peace." 

Shane had apparently been able to leave the hospital, where he had been confined due to two suicide attempts, unseen on Thursday. He was reportedly spotted in south Dublin as recently as Friday. Police confirmed the 17-year-old's death on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022. "Following the recovery of a body in the Bray area of Wicklow on Friday, January 7, 2022, a missing person alert has been issued for Shane O'Connor, 17."
