Hershey Weiss, a 17-year-old from Golders Green, died after the small plane crashed into a house in the town of Sheparivka in the Kolomyja district.

Igor Tabanyuk is a pilot with 40 years of experience. Born in Uzbekistan, he graduated from the Higher Military Aviation School in Chernihiv. According to the distribution, he got to Chortkiv, from there to Mukachevo and then to Kolomyia. Then he flew in Hungary, later in Azerbaijan. In 1992, he returned to Kolomyia, where he stayed.
In 2010, Ihor Tabanyuk started working on the creation of an airfield in Kolomyia - he founded the public organization "Carpathian Children's and Youth Sports Association of Small Aviation" and the aviation club "Aviakolo".
In 2013, the youngest son of Igor Tabanyuk died in a plane crash - he was flying instead of his father to check the plane. In an interview, Igor Tabanyuk then said, "My son took my death."
The plane crash occurred on August 28 at about 13:40. The plane crashed into a private house in the village of Sheparivka, Kolomyia district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, three Hasids, US citizens, were involved in the plane crash. They came to the Ivano-Frankivsk region with a group of tourists on vacation.
